Our Story

We didn't start a brewery.
We started a movement.

Villains Brewing Company was born from a simple frustration: San Diego had great beer, but nobody was making beer with personality. So in 2019, a group of misfit brewers — each with their own brand of beautiful chaos — decided to build something that didn't fit the mold.

We opened our doors on Island Ave with six taps, a handful of tables, and a commitment to making beer that surprises you. No corporate backing. No focus groups. Just brewers who care about the craft and a team that treats every guest like they belong at the villain's table.

Our taproom is a gathering place for locals, transplants, and anyone who's ever felt like an outsider. Bring your crew, bring your weird energy.

Live Music & Events

Open mic nights, local bands, beer release parties, and the occasional villain-themed trivia. Check our Instagram for the weekly lineup.

Food Trucks & Snacks

Rotating food trucks hit our lot most evenings. In-house snacks available too — because a beer without a snack is just a sad beer.

Dog-Friendly Patio

Your four-legged villain is welcome on our patio. Water bowls provided — we believe good dogs deserve good beer (for their humans).
